I know there's at least *one* independent film producer in this Tribe:
"Variety reports that Topher Grace will star in an untitled Harold Ramis ('Groundhog Day') comedy that will be based on the popular web service, Friendster.com. Gustin Nash will pen the screenplay.
Topher will play a character that will utilize the website, as well as instant messaging and camera phones, as he looks for love on the Internet."
In the Tribe.net version, maybe a sandal-wearing MBA could use the service to meet furries, freaks and tantra partners?

Tue, March 22, 2005 - 2:27 PMHmm... perhaps we should go with the relocating young professional angle:
Young urban professional from a midwestern city (say, Indianapolis) moves to a new town (say, San Francisco) and has a hard time fitting in. Goes on some disastrous dates, one with a flake from friendster, then a porn star from myspace.
One slow day at work, our hero decides to Google for a hardware store near his house because he needs to buy some rope and a couple of pulleys, and various power tools. And voila! The first 10 entries are from everyone's favorite web site, tribe.net!! And then he learned what people *really* buy rope for. Hilarious hijinks ensue.
We could call it "The Peeps of Stanton". -

Wed, March 23, 2005 - 12:50 AMA glazed donut doesn't impress. Now, if they can catch a bear claw or cruller tossed from a distance without using hands, I'd buy that for a dollar.
